What is JLCMC Additional Machining?

JLCMC Additional machining is an optional machining service available on select catalog products. On supported product pages, two tabs appear: Configure, for standard specifications such as material, diameter, and length; and Additional Machining, for extra machining operations applied on top of the standard part. Selecting an operation under the Additional Machining tab does not require a separate drawing submission or quote request. Parameters — offset distance from end face, groove width, key depth, and similar values — are entered directly on the product page, and the unit price updates automatically. All machining is performed at JLCMC's own manufacturing facility, and the finished part ships together with the rest of the order.

Ordering Process for Additional Machining of Standard Parts

The following example uses Linear Shafts to demonstrate how to check and configure the Customizable option.
Step 1 — Find your product category

Search or browse to the product category you need. In this example: All Products → Linear Motion Parts → Linear Shafts.
Step 2 — Select a specific product

Use the filters (Product Shape Selection, Category, Shaft End Shape, Shaft Body Machining, Shaft Tolerance, etc.) to narrow down to a specific product, then click into it. In this example: Linear Shaft – Solid, Straight, g6 Tolerance.
Step 3 — Select a Product Code

On the product page, select a specific Product Code from the dropdown (e.g., BACA-M1W). This step is required — Customizable availability is only confirmed after a specific product code has been selected.
Step 4 — Check for the "Customizable" tab

Once a Product Code is selected, check the left-hand configuration panel. - If a Customizable tab appears next to Configure, this product code supports additional machining. - If only Configure is shown, the selected code does not currently support the Customizable option.
Step 5 — Click "Customizable" and review available codes

Click the Customizable tab. A list of machining codes (e.g., LD, PM, SPM, BC) will appear, each with input fields for its specific parameters.
Step 6 — Check code definitions under "Drawing/Specifications"

Click the Drawing/Specifications tab (or use the download icon to save the full specification sheet as a PDF). Within the document, locate the Optional Processing section — this is where each machining code's exact meaning, applicable dimensions, and ordering method are explained. Review this section before entering your parameters in the Customizable tab to confirm exactly what each code does for this specific part.

Is the Customizable option available on all products?
No. Availability depends on the specific product series, size, and configuration. The Customizable tab appears only where the option is supported, after the standard configuration under Configure is completed.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. Customizable parts follow JLCMC's standard no-MOQ policy; a single unit can be ordered with machining applied.
How is pricing calculated?
The machining cost is added to the unit price automatically based on the operation and parameters selected. The price shown before adding to cart is final, with no post-order adjustments.
Does it affect lead time?
Lead time varies by operation and product and is displayed after configuration.
Can multiple operations be combined on one part?
Where supported, yes — for example, a flat cut and a keyway on the same shaft. Available combinations are shown on the product page; not all combinations are supported on every size.
