01. Drilling

Choose the corresponding standard drill bit to drill holes according to different specifications. The drilling depth should be greater than or equal to the installation depth of the wire screw insert. Be careful not to drill the hole into a cone and do not let the chips fall in. The countersinking after drilling should not exceed 0.4 pitch depth, because a countersinking that is too large is not conducive to the screwing in of the wire screw insert.

02. Tapping

Use a special tap for wire thread inserts marked with specified thread specifications for tapping. The tapping length must exceed the length of the wire thread insert. For through holes, all tapping is required. The tapping accuracy determines the tolerance band of the final standard internal screw hole. The user should appropriately select the tapping method and lubrication. For blind hole tapping, appropriate force should be applied to prevent the tap from breaking. After tapping, the threaded hole should be cleaned, generally with a compressed air spray gun. For blind holes, a long spray gun with radial holes should be used to clean from bottom to top. The threaded hole can also be cleaned by cleaning. When the threaded hole has high accuracy, a special wire thread insert bottom hole plug gauge should be used for inspection.

03. Installation

In general, a manual installer should be used to install the wire screw insert. Put the wire screw insert into the installation tool, insert the installation handle into the guide rod groove, turn the installation tool handle to screw the wire screw insert into the screw hole, and leave 0.25-0.75 circles of empty thread from the surface. When installing a small number of wire screw inserts and when installing coarse-thread wire screw inserts above M14×2, "T"-shaped slots or threaded head simple tools can be used for installation, and be careful not to apply a large axial force on the wire screw insert installation handle to prevent "random buckling". After the wire screw insert is installed, in order to check the accuracy level of the standard internal threaded hole formed, the corresponding level plug gauge can be used for inspection.

04. Remove the handle

For wire screw inserts with breaking grooves, the mounting handle should be removed after screwing into the screw hole, and a handle removal tool is required. When through-hole, the mounting handle of the wire screw insert should be broken. Generally, a punch breaker is used to aim at the mounting handle, and a hammer of about 200g can be used to hit it. For coarse-thread wire screw inserts above M18×2.5 and fine-thread wire screw inserts above M14×1.25, the mounting handle can be broken by bending it up and down with needle-nosed pliers. Then remove the broken mounting handle from the screw hole. Note: If an automatic punch breaker is used, just use the punch of the automatic punch breaker to press the wire screw insert installed in the bottom hole with appropriate force to break the mounting handle.

05. Disassembly

Insert the tip of the remover into the thread sleeve hole, press the handle firmly, and rotate it counterclockwise to remove the wire screw sleeve.

Installation tools:

1. Special tap: Special tap: used to process the internal thread of the installation hole of the wire screw sleeve;

2. Installation wrench: used to insert the wire screw into the internal threaded hole;

3. Breaker: used to break the installation handle of the wire screw sleeve;

4. Socket remover: used to remove the wire thread socket inserted into the threaded hole;

5. Thread plug gauge: used to check the internal thread hole for installing the wire screw sleeve;

4. Cautions

The diameter of the wire thread insert in the free state is slightly larger than the diameter of the screw hole it is installed in. During assembly, the wire thread insert is subjected to the torque of a special wrench to reduce its diameter, and enters the screw hole that has been tapped with a special tap. After installation, the wire thread insert produces a spring-like expansion effect, which makes it firmly fixed in the threaded hole and will never be brought out when the screw is unscrewed.
