Fasteners

Fasteners are hardware devices used to mechanically join or affix two or more objects together securely and non-permanently (unlike welding or adhesives). They encompass a wide range of components, including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, rivets, anchors, and pins, each designed for specific applications based on load-bearing capacity, material compatibility, and environmental conditions. Fasteners can be threaded (e.g., screws and bolts, which allow adjustable tension) or non-threaded (e.g., rivets and clips, which provide permanent or snap-on fixes). They are manufactured from materials like steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, or plastic, chosen for strength, corrosion resistance, or electrical insulation. Fasteners are critical in industries such as construction, automotive, electronics, and machinery, ensuring structural integrity, assembly efficiency, and ease of maintenance. Standardization (e.g., ISO, DIN, ANSI) ensures compatibility and safety across global applications.
